Good Things Challenge x 3, Day 2. Several people were kind, efficient, and directly helpful to me, in different ways, today. And G was able to come over, to bring freshness and rust-coloured warmth into my home. Then C and S came and we magic-ed 3 Butterfly Beings into the playroom. A work in progress: there are embellishments and hair, and one face, still to appear.... What a fine time we spent, all contentedly making, together. C loved the stitching-box which I'd magic-ed together for her. How I enjoyed gathering little treats to put in there, and the girly decorating process. It's a long long way from the squarey, hole-y, dull-blue stiff fabric and acid yellow thread which was my "here's stitching" initiation, decades ago. The thrillspark of potential glimpsed is pretty similar, though. I painted a couple of splashy loose paintings to use up the paints we'd all mixed, after C and S left. On my second evening constitutional; more good things. One was meeting other neighbours, and inviting them for painting-and-making sessions too. An invitation eagerly accepted. I think my time is come, where I get to womanifest some more of the Dreams I've carried all this long, long, while. Another helpful man offered to push me as I reached the top of the slow-climb road. I declined, saying I was getting my exercise, but thanked him anyways. Our paths crossed again a while later; we had taken opposite ways round another few streets. Rolling along easier then, in fading summer evening sun, we smiled as we passed, and I got a sense of learning about my neighbourhood in many new ways, now.
My friend C's very first stitching, a couple of weeks ago. xxx
