Product of a fine April Saturday afternoon in the Sunshine. 9.4.2011
Watercolour, and pens, on my new 10 x 10 inch watercolour paper block.
And here it was, in preparatory stage, with the resist painted on first.
In the distance is my Lovely new round raised bed. I call it 'the paddling pool', because when I first saw the size of circle I wanted to live there, it seemed paddling-pool-size. Happily, I found a Proper solution, and with kind help from my friend Geoff, my seeing became a being, rounding off the garden very nicely.
Here's more of the happy chaos of another painting day in the splendid April Sunshine this week.
This is really a Dream come True, from many years ago - to be able to paint in my own garden...
And here's another one I made earlier.... before I found out about 'blocks' - so the page edges are curling...
* * *
And in the time between painting that and the first one, I made it out into the world, after being housebound since October... Yes, really. Long enough to have missed two time changes, so my car clock was still right...End of an era, and O, I do hope, the beginning of a time of rather wider horizons.
While I was out, another being blossomed. On my baby Magnolia tree was a bud when I left, and when I returned, a couple of hours later, it's very first (and only) flower had bloomed, too, in the heat.
It took me a moment to see the metaphor.
Exquisite Divine Timely Grace.
The long long long cold Winter is over.
Unseen Beauty was brewing all the while,
(If you are gazing on this in a reader, come on over to enjoy the big juicy versions. As Nature Intended...)
